When a teenager is struggling, it can affect every part of daily life; school, friendships, confidence, sleep, and family relationships.

Some young people know they need help but feel unsure how to begin. Others are reluctant, anxious about talking, or worried about being judged.

Direct Support for Teens is designed to feel different.

Sessions are engaging, practical, and focused on helping young people understand their mindset, regulate their emotions, and build lasting confidence without feeling like they are being analysed or forced to talk endlessly about what’s wrong.

Support for Teens

Helping Teens Develop Calm, Confidence, and Emotional Resilience

Teen sessions are structured but flexible.

I adapt each session to the individual; how they think, how they process, what motivates them, and what helps them feel safe and engaged. The aim is always to help them feel capable, not dependent.

My approach combines therapeutic and mindset-based tools, including hypnotherapy where appropriate, to help teens:

  • Reduce anxiety and emotional overwhelm

  • Build confidence and self-belief

  • Develop healthier thought patterns

  • Regulate stress responses

  • Feel more in control of their reactions

Sessions are focused on forward movement, not dwelling on the past unnecessarily.

How I Work with Teens

When Direct Teen Support Is Appropriate

Direct support may be recommended when:

  • Your teen is open to working with someone independently

  • Anxiety, stress, or low confidence is affecting school or social life

  • They feel stuck in negative thinking patterns

  • They would benefit from tools to manage emotions

For more structured, programme-based support specifically for teenage anxiety and school-related challenges, you may also wish to explore the Calmer Teens programme.

What Changes Can Look Like

Young people frequently report:

  • Feeling calmer in situations that previously triggered anxiety

  • Greater confidence in social or school environments

  • Improved focus and emotional regulation

  • A stronger sense of control over their thoughts and reactions

The aim is to help your teen discover their own inner strengths and develop skills that allow them to handle challenges with confidence.

Is This the Right Starting Point?

It can be difficult to know if you should start with sessions for your teen or parental sessions. Part of the consultation is discussing the right approach for your current situation and what would get the best results. You don't need to decide before the consultation.
